Inspiration comes in many forms, and you never know when it will strike. But one thing is certain: the more you see and the more you pay attention, the more inspiration you’ll draw. So go see stuff!
Feller AG, Horgen
Everyone knows them, and everyone uses them daily — the sockets and light switches from Horgen. But did you know about their history? Go see their archive to uncover the fascinating story behind these everyday essentials!
especially the story of Elisabeth Feller, she was a pioneer of the women’s movement and campaigned for women’s suffrage. She co-founded and served as the first president of the Swiss Association of Professional and Business Women, advocating for better economic opportunities for women. From 1950 to 1973, she led the Federal Swiss Women’s Associations’ expert commission on equal pay for work of equal value. Internationally, she made history as the first non-Anglo-Saxon president of Business and Professional Women (BPW). She also held memberships in various United Nations bodies, including as vice president of the Swiss UNESCO Commission. Throughout her work, she championed “equal pay for equal work” and the improvement of working conditions for women.

Schaulager Therma
And sometimes you find people who care more than others—Thomas Schätti is one of them. First, he is an entrepreneur (Schätti AG Metallwarenfabrik), crafting furniture, lamps, coffee machines, and mechanical objects. But he also runs the Therma Schaulager in an old hall of the Therma factory, not just to preserve the rich industrial history of the Canton of Glarus, but also—something you notice when you talk to Thomas and his eyes begin to sparkle—to showcase the innovations hidden inside and outside these products: their design, simplicity, and the precision with which they were made. These treasures need to be shared with the world, and Thomas makes it happen!

PS: While you’re there, also enjoy the beautiful nature!
